/ban

Adds a player to the server's ban list, preventing them from joining.

Syntax

/ban <targets> [<reason>]

Parameters

Name	Required	Description
targets	Yes	The player(s) to ban. Can be a player name or selector.
reason	No	An optional message explaining why the player was banned.

Examples

/ban Steve
/ban Steve Griefing other players

Notes

• Requires permission level 3.
• Dedicated server only — cannot be used in singleplayer.
• The banned player list is stored in banned-players.json on the server.
• Banning a player who is currently online will immediately kick them.

Command Block Use

This command is not usable from command blocks. It is a server-operator-only command designed for multiplayer administration.
